Wouldn't it be GREAT to have a plan for the week? Better yet, wouldn't it be great if those plans included healthy options?
What?
Fast, planned AND healthy?
Yes!
Meal planning is SO key in the never-ending battle of healthy eating and even as a dietitian I would struggle with this. I spent my whole day thinking and talking about food. The last thing I wanted to do was think about it some more.
So, about a year ago, I started the 21 Day Fix and for the past year, I have pretty well stuck to this meal plan. I have passed along my meal planning sheets to MY challengers and they love them too!
This is how the meal plan works:
- You figure out your calories for the day using their handy, dandy formula.
- From there, you find out how many containers you get. Fruit container, vegetable container, protein container, etc.
- Plan your meals and fill the containers with foods corresponding. For example, if you are given 3 fruit containers - choose one fruit container for each meal
There you go! If you want to go even further, you can grocery shop and prep your food like chicken breast, cut up fruit and veggies, cook up your quinoa, etc. before the week even starts. Then you are REALLY ready to rock your meals!
The success of the 21 Day Fix is the exercise AND meal plan component and using these tips, it WORKS!
Does this meal planning system seem like something that would help you succeed in your health and fitness journey?
