21 Day Fix Meal Planning with Families

As a Beachbody coach, I get this question a lot.

"What is it like to do 21 Day Fix with a family?   Will I have to make separate meals for me?   Will I have time to prep all of the food?  Meal plan?"

Because I have done numerous rounds of 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme with picky eaters and crazy schedules, here's my answer:

I do understand your concerns about fixing 2-3 items/meal!   About a year ago, I did my first round of 21 Day Fix.  It was a total 180 for the grab-and-go, short-order cook I was used to at our house.  I was used to grabbing a snack or protein bars for meals and snacks and since my husband is gone a lot, we just grabbed whatever for supper.   I am actually not too proud of what our family meals (or most of my meals) used to look like.  So, I scoured Pinterest and my own coach's YouTube channel for "fix" recipes that I thought my family might "try" at least.  I found more than I thought I would AND they are even game to try some new ones that I've tried from the new FixATE cookbook!   I am happy to say that even my pickiest of eaters can find something in the option served on most nights (we aren't perfect).  ;)
I eat what my family eats - I just use containers when I do it.   There is NO need to cook something different for yourself.   For me, I love that my little ones are learning clean eating and healthy eating habits now that will carry over into adulthood.   They are also trying things they NEVER would have otherwise!  They even ask to drink my Shakeology sometimes!

The meal planning part of it IS time consuming.  No lie.  I spend some time on Friday and/or Saturday planning out my meals and Sunday shopping and prepping my meals for the week.   Yep, sounds like a HUGE snooze-fest!  But, you know what is AWESOME??  On Tuesdays when my kids both have activities and I could be left with the option of fast food or granola bars - I already have dinner prepped and ready to go!   The meal planning and prep takes times but it saves time (and anxiety and headaches) later in the week!  Totally worth it to me!

Example of meal planning for the week:

Here's a picture of the lunch I pack my husband (also on the "fix" meal plan):

The workouts are 30 minutes - 30 MINUTES!!!  That's it!  NO gym to drive to!   NO babysitter to pay while you workout!   NO need to match your outfit or worry if your eye makeup is smeared all over your face!   AND there is a different workout for each day of the week - NO BOREDOM!!

Can you tell I love this program?   Can you tell when a busy mom asks me about it, I know she will be perfect for the 21 Day Fix?

So, if you are "that mom" who thinks the prep, workouts, and meal juggling seems overwhelming - it can be.   Going it alone, I can't imagine!   Doing it with my challenge group giving you ideas and motivation?   SO MUCH EASIER!
