Let me get a little sappy for a moment. As you may know, my sister and I ran our first half marathon in October. I still don't consider myself a runner and maybe it's because I just started a year ago but someone who IS a runner is my brother, Nicholas.
At least he WAS a runner.
He ran track in high school, formed a cross country team in high school, ran races and even became (and still is) a track and cross country coach. But a number of years ago, he was in a bad car accident. In the accident, his kneecap broke in half. Yes, we thanked God that it wasn't worse and that his life was saved but because of complications beyond his control he did not heal to the point that he can run again.
He is a runner mentally but not physically.
When I found this quote, it spoke directly to my heart because I know there are people just like him who WANT to be active and just can't!
So, when people say,"13.1 miles? You're crazy! Why would you do that to yourself?"
Well, it's because I can.
While this isn't my only WHY of getting physically fit, trust me,when my leg and knee were killing me, it got me through.
Find your WHY of getting healthier and if you know it, share it!
